Saturday night!

Party time!

Happy Caturday to everybody, just thought I'd swing by and introduce myself here on the ol' Scum City Racing blog. For those of you playing along at home, I'm gonna be posting the occasional ramble here and there about cycling, bacon, facon(if you're so inclined) and of course the important things in life. Such as terrible made for Syfy movies. I'm a Clevo messenger by trade and a bad and by bad I mean horrible cross racer(honest to god that junior snaked my line at the end, check that 12 year old for EPO).
Most of my material will be the strange nature of riding a bike in Cleveland, sights I've come across and other bits of fun. I will do my best to never be that serious, or to bore you with anything that is too stupid. Ok, forgive the occasional Charles in Charge reference. Expect gear reviews, and beer reviews. Mostly my opinions on the frivolous things in life.
So I look forward to hearing comments about how I'm a terrible writer, racer and father. Strike that last one I haven't been on Maury Povich yet so I can't possibly be a parent.
I have a new bike build coming up, which I'm particularly stoked about so I look forward to showing you that process as it goes along. I think I might finally get the fixed gear frame I want! Shocking I know! Well that's all for now my two readers, have a good weekend and keep it rubber side down.

Things are lookin' up...

Talked with John G yesterday about doing our jersey and short design. Our kit design should be done in the coming weeks, and we will all be brutalizing yer faces in the next couple months.

I think

...  this is the coolest thing i have seen so far that combines bike related, with something totally not. FUCKING AWESOME!

HEY YOU!

...rants and driving advice from a Cleveland bike courier....

1. Keep doing what yer doing. If yer following all the traffic rules and there's nothing crazy happening, don't freak out. Just because im on a bike and in the road doesn't mean you have to randomly have to slam on the brakes because i enter the scene. Im riding in the street so i hopefully somewhat know what im doing. If anything that will cause an accident because you are trying to judge my actions and respond to them but you have no fucking CLUE what im thinking and how i will be riding with or through the traffic. Every rider is different, and some are more aggro than others.

2. Don't try and read my mind. Really, just don't. Im repeating what i just mentioned but seriously don't even try it. Unless you know that most likely what is happening will result in an accident, just keep driving. Some accidents are inevitable, and some people ride like idiots including myself sometimes. But you still don't know what my next move will be. If im in view it's most likely because i want to be, not because im trying to fuck with you. Yeah i might be a prick in rush hour or something but while yer sitting in traffic, im still trying to get paid. Time is money, son!

3. Check yer mirrors. Sounds pretty self-explanatory but no one does it. ESPECIALLY when you are: parked on the street and getting out of yer car, doing a U-turn, doing some crazy lane-change thing. As i said above a lot of us choose to be seen or not, but if yer driving like an asshole yer driving like an asshole, plain and simple.

4. Don't throw stuff at us. Whether yer a pedestrian or a driver, don't throw shit at us. We will most likely dodge it and/or get up and catch right up to you. Have you seen how beefy our "little" U-locks are? We WILL fight back. And most likely you are the one who started it, dick.

...more to come later...

Hmmm...

I should maybe start posting on here more.... I would like to try and have a couple jersey designs up in the next couple weeks. Should be brutal.

As of right now we will have Scum City in bold metal type font with a godless black metal bicycle warrior between. The back will most likely be reserved for Sponsors, since we're hoping to get Phoenix Coffee and Jak Prints as our main sponsors. The shorts will have all John G artwork on them.

If anyone knows of a local company that would like to sponsor our team, let us know!.
