Winter Movie Corner!

I know all of us are considering, or some have started their indoor training. Me, I just ate pizza training enough for me. But I promised a long time ago I'd blab about movies so I got a couple

Kill the Irishman: Not gonna lie, really really liked this movie. I'm biased in the fact that I love Cleveland true crime truth be told. Really well done, all the performances were good I give it two thumbs up.

Blood Sweat and Gears: Also, not bad, and a scant 90 minutes long to boot. It's nice to see the beginnings of Team Cervelo-Earl Scheib-Tea House Noodles-Waffle House, or whatever they are this year. Being they are my favorite pro team it was nice to see the behind the scenes stuff. Team management, structure and that stuff was really interesting to me and a side of the pro world I didn't know much about. Not nearly enough Zabriskie for this guy. But worth a rent from Netflix, two thumbs up.

I have yet to get any ham sandwiches downtown btw. And Captain George told me the only 815 tall boy he got was one he bought himself. For shame applicants, for shame. Good day to ride today everyone, clear and cold. Get out there if ya can.

After a brief convo with Captain George.

I'm typing this whole thing in so you can see the insanity I deal with daily.

Me: Hey buddy, we're still trying to do columbus right?
CG: Did you fax ahead my list of demands?
M: No, you can't have a rider george, none of us are that famous yet.
G: What? I specifically asked for a tropical fruit plate, and the DVD Smokey and the Bandit playing on loop near my trainer?
M:Yeah, I didn't even send that out. It's not even worth trying.

At this point he started muttering about Buford T. Justice and how he had this whole thing in his head that he was gonna "catch the bandit" down in Cbus. Truth be told I have no idea what he's on about, but it's not looking good for the winter Scum City field trip.

Now I have eleven voice mails from Alex to answer, and 17 emails from Will. Hopefully it's not another "art shoot" from his camera involving sculpted tofu. I get it buddy, but you're never ever ever gonna get bean curd to look like Jonathan Vaughters. It's just not gonna happen.

Keep it rubber side down everyone

So, you want to join team Scum City

I've been finally cleared to tell everyone the application process. All of this must be done, manifests will be checked before you're even considered for membership.

1. You have to have lunch at Tea House Noodles. What you eat is up to you, but a receipt must be provided and will be checked. No exceptions.
2. You can to only refer to Jay Karp as "sir" he's faster then you and deserves your respect. Hell I have to get him a sandwich once a week for allowing my continued membership on this team.
3. If you run into Captain George in the wild you have to buy him a beer. I don't care if it's 815 in the morning on a Tuesday, buy a tall boy at the Stab-and-grab and pass it off to him.
4. All applicants must be open to the idea of tattoos. Captain George and Alex waffle on this all the time so be ready at any time.
5. I require a Ham Sandwich, And no bullshit gas station sandwich. I'm talking an actual ham sandwich. I'm easy to find, I'm downtown. You can knock this and number 1 out in half an hour. See applicants, I'm doing your job.
6. I'm gonna need a brandy glass full of M&M's

Once you've done all of these you're application is logged and you'll start the interview process. Hopefully this helps all potential racers out there.

Carmen Gambino

Carmen brought positive enthusiasm to the team early on, though with some midseason opportunities calling we can only hope he will join us again next year. Get out here and play in the damn mud!

Scummy Newbs!

We have three racers who have been upon us for sometime or are brand new to our world. In any case we are excited that they will be wearing there very own jersey next year, thank you Carmen for letting us pass yours around.

Mitch Bear Gabel is a beast and a regional tough guy! Need i say more, its gonna be awesome to train and race next to him, if i can keep up.

Dean Sauer has been on the team since the beginning of the season. He unfortunately missed the jersey ordering, so i am considering him a newb even though he has been a longtime friend and race pal. Season #2 is a winter away.

Laura Webb has been introduced to us through Russel Lee. She has been epically photographing cx racing in NEO. She however decided to try her hand with three races to go and she did very very well. With that said, she is going to join us next year as our first female racer.

Scum City has a female racer! Laura Webb

This will be her first season racing cx. She finished three at the tail end of the season and did very well. The prospect of a woman's bike team is fucking awesome! Welcome Laura!

Dean Sauer

Dean has been amongst us for sometime now. He is a great friend to Scum City and we are excited to have him pull the red white and black over his shoulders. He is an integral part of our training and organization. Way to kick ass this season!
